“The Cold Logic framework is shaped by conversations, case studies, failures, fixes, and moments of insight gained by working with some of the most committed people in the cold chain industry. I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. And I believe sharing those insights can help others raise the bar.”

A message from the Author, Adam Wade

My mission is to help businesses gain transparency, accountability and connectivity in their cold chains, and Cold Logic is the distillation of everything I’ve learnt on my journey.

After 24 years in corporate life with a major Australian food and beverage company, I stepped away from the day job to pursue something I’d been quietly building toward – capturing and sharing the lessons I’ve learned from the cold chain.

For close to a decade, I’d focused entirely on fixing refrigerated logistics problems, both on the ground and from a research and procedural standpoint. I helped teams prevent failures that cost time, money, trust and product, and I didn’t want to walk away and let that knowledge go to waste.

And I wasn’t ready to walk away from the cold chain or the sense of purpose I’d found in solving the very real problems affecting food quality, safety, and waste across Australia.

During my time as a founding director of the AFCCC, I had the privilege of working with passionate leaders trying to shift the needle across the industry. It exposed me to many opportunities for improvement in the Australian cold chain and provided me with knowledge available to few.

I realised the best way to share my knowledge and give back to the industry that gave me so much was through a book. That book would also form the foundation of my training and troubleshooting business, Keep It Cool Consulting.

Cold Logic is dedicated to the hardworking companies, independent providers and cold chain practitioners whose job it is to produce, store and deliver chilled or frozen products such as food, vaccines, medical supplies and horticultural produce to wholesale and retail points of distribution in Australia.

This book isn’t about telling you what to do. It’s about sharing what I’ve seen, what I’ve learned, and what might help move your business and the Australian cold chain forward. I hope you find value in it.
